DVD reader as in dvd player?

Does not fit the screen as black bars on the side or around the frame?

          Is your tv widescreen

          Is your footage widescreen.

Post a screenshot of your project settings and clip properties.

You cannot convert a prel into an avi.

A .prel is the project file, an avi is a video file

Ann is right. A .prel project file is made up of the media you're editing. It is not media.

But you can output AVIs, DVDs and other media from it. In version 14, you just use Export & Share/Devices/Computer and select the resolution and format.

              Hi Ann

Thank you for your  quick answer. I checked the different stuff  after your mail.

In fact the DVD that I burned contains my project in a prel file, so I cannot not see it on tv as the DVD player doesn't find a "video"

I will try anyway to export my project to my computer if possible into an AVI or Jpeg 2 file.

The problem repains how to get my project in a readable file on a dvd ?

              Thank again

Meantime, please describe how you burned your original DVD.

There is no way a .prel file should have showed up on a DVD! The program would never create one using Export & Share.

That is correct. The dvd player wont find a movie for you to watch. As there is no movie on the dvd.

Jpeg is no good either: they are stills.

You open the prel with Elements

It will give you the movie ( I presume is already edited by you ) in a timeline

Then you go up to Share/export

                  select dvd option

                  and burn.
