What exact version of InDesign CC (the current version if CC 2015.3)? What operating system?
I'd try restoring your InDesign preferences. Here's how:
The new version of CC has a startup workspace for when no files are open and you should be able to turn that off in the general section of the preferences. Otherwise, workspaces are a user-level setting, not document level, so they should not change automatically as you open other files.
indeed - 2015.3 Release, 126.96.36.199 Build
OSX El Capitan 10.11.5
I was able to trash the Indd Defaults file, but I couldn't fin the indd SavedData File. Replacing the indeed Defaults file alone didn't work.
Every time I open any document, it indicates that it is my workspace, but it isn't. I have Amy's Workspace and Amy's New Workspace, an d in order for the correct one to appear, I have to click between the two workspaces in order for the correct one to show up.
