    Best Banner Width

    Neomagnus
Hi all, have been sitting on this one for a while, create a Banner in Fireworks 8 for transfer to Dreamweaver page, tried widths from 700 pixles to 1024 pixles. Dilemer is that on transfer to Dreamweaver to display as page you either need to centre the Banner for appearance sake (and then the rest of your site) or change the width of the Banner in Dreamweaver to 100% (prefered) which while being a JPEG file seems to distort the clarity of the text on the Banner. What is the best width for the common screen that on resizing to fit screen should provide the best trade off in clarity? It also matters in this case that on printing the Banner will fit to 21cm the width of an A4 page on printing.

      Suggestions Welcome

      regards

You cannot create a resizable graphic in Fireworks. You can in Flash,
          however.

Design a separate banner for printing in Freehand or Illustrator.

Hi you can also create your banner fireworks , slice it into three graphic sections so that you can create a table in DW (one row three colums) the first and last columns (pieces of banner) set to fixed sizes and leave the middle cell realative so it can strecth the banner to browser window.
