I just got off the phone with Adobe Customer service, who told me that I "had no problem and there was nothing they could do to help", so I figured I would reach out to the web.
I have been working on a very simple project for the past week or so at my office, and have had no problems rendering or previewing any of it. I stepped out of state for 2 days, and when I returned today, the RAM preview was basically unusable as it was so slow. Seemingly out of nowhere, it began to cache frames at .5fps. I have no idea why this is the case, as the project is very simple (A single video layer, with a motion tracked & masked .png overlaying it) and the workstation I am working on is well above the standards (32 GB of RAM, i7 quadcore, 4GB of dedicated video RAM).
I have no idea what could be causing this, and really am at my wits end. If anyone has any ideas or considerations I would greatly appreciate hearing them.
all the best,
If a purge of everything, a reboot and a check for updates does not fix the problem check free space. If that does not fix the problem then make sure all of the layers are selected, press the u key twice and start checking the modified properties of all your layers.
