In case there is any exclamation mark on the images in Lightroom, please try to relocate the images using the following link: Adobe Lightroom - Find moved or missing files and folders
There are no images with the exclaimation mark in the corner. That is why I thought the syncronize would work but it did not. I have confirmed that all the images are in the correct subfolder. Thanks for your reply
My lightroom CC cannot see over 1000 files in a specific subdirectory with over 2000 files in it. The files are there when you look at them with explore. Other files are there and are seen by LRCC. When I try to syncronize LR says that there are 1200+ files to import (this is the correct number ) but as it trys to include the 1200+ files eventually says it could not find any files to import.
The problem is that you have most likely imported these photos previously into Lightroom, and you used the COPY option, so Lightroom knows about these photos but thinks they are in a different folder. Please note: Lightroom is not a file browser, it will not "see" the same files that your operating system sees, it only knows about the photos that have been imported and the folder you imported them into.
You need to find the photos in Lightroom's Library Module, in the different folder, and then make use of them. Importing or synchronizing these photos will not help, and will make the situation worse.
To find the photos in Lightroom's LIbrary Module, click on All Photographs on the left hand side, then sort the photos by file name (use the menu command View->Sort) and then scroll up or down until you find one (or more) of the photos in alphabetical order.
That solved the issue. This all started with a hard drive failure. The backup had the files in the NEF format but I had converted them to DNG. Thanks to everyone for the help.
Well, thanks, although I don't see how my description solved a your problem, which is a very different problem as you described it.
It helped me understand where the issue was. My next challenge is to fix it since it is looking for dng files and the subdirectory has nef files. One more question... Under the All Photographs heading is an All synced Phothographs item.. exactly what does it mean or do??
