Is there a way through javascript to compile data input by the user into an excel-friendly format?

I have a form in which the user is inputting several rows of data along with additional information about this data.  I ultimately want to export the data so I can manipulate it in Excel.  Is this possible through javascript (or some other way)?  Below is an example of what I mean.

The form has a table in which the user inputs each of his friend's names, their favorite color and their age.  I want the name of the specific friend to be linked to their favorite color and age so when I export into excel I can see how many friends the user has whose favorite color is red.

So the form data would look like this:

      Friend1name

      Friend2name

      Friend3name

      Friend1color

      Friend2color

      Friend3color

      Friend1age

      Friend2age

      Friend3age

When I export the data as entered above, each field results in a different column.

Anybody have any ideas for this?
