I have a very old .FLA file that I need to edit. It was created using Actionscript 1, and when I open it in Adobe Animate, it requires the script to be updated to 3. This causes my .FLA's slideshow to break. Any help to avoid this is welcome.
Thank you in advance.
As part of your CC subscription you are allowed to download Flash Pro CS6. That can open AS 1 or 2 FLAs.
I've looked for this on my creative cloud but it is not there. From what I've researched, Animate took over flash pro? Or I'm blind.
In the Creative Cloud menu, go to the Apps tab. Then under Find Additional Apps select View Previous Versions. Now you should see Flash Pro listed, and CS6 will be one of the versions you can download.
Animate did take over from Flash Pro CC, and there's usually no good reason to have both of those installed. But CS6 can do some things that were dropped from the CC version, so it's worth keeping around.
