I can imagine a 4-page spread as two pages joined at the spine with a gatefold page coming off of each page at the edge that is away from the spine, but I wouldn't call that a 4x4. Maybe just making a single page and dividing it up into 4 sections is what you need.
I thought about that. I would really like a way to view the presentation as it will be shown on the wall - so yeah, like a single page divided but I want to have the pages separated for printing and other purposes.
This will get you closer to what you want:
- Start by going to the Pages panel menu, and removing the check mark from Allow Document Pages to Shuffle and from Allow Selected Spread to Shuffle.
- Drag the page icons in the Pages panel until they are aligned side by side: page 1 and 2, and underneath that page 3 and 4. It can be a little tricky to drag the pages to the right spot so that they fall into place.
- Choose Preferences > Guides & Pasteboard. Change the vertical margins to zero. If you want, you can also change the horizontal margins to zero, but then you won't have any pasteboard.
There will still be a horizontal gap, but smaller gap than before.
Thanks for this. This is definitely an improvement.
Even better - move the pages with the pages tool.
Turn off allow document pages to shuffle
Drag the pages to Spreads
Select the pages tool
On the page layout - drag your pages underneath each other
What's interesting is that the top 2 are page 1 and 2. Bottom 2 are page 3 and 4.
You can export to single pages as page 1,2,3,4
Or you can export as a spread and it actually exports as that spread.
i followed up to "Drag the pages to spreads."
How do I drag the pages underneath each other on the page layout?
Select the Page Tool
As per the diagram.
Then in the layout (not the pages panel) click and drag the pages underneath each other.
great, got it. Thanks so much.
