Just got a Panasonic HC-X920 videocamera which has a great HD quality, but it does not work with iMac, unless using iFrame-format, which is not a HD-format.
Would like to buy Premiere Elements but I cannot figure it out if this will work with the recording format in the Panasonic camera: PH1920, HA1920, HG1920, HE1920 or 1080/50p and with iMac. Does anyone know? By the way, I do not understand the difference with all these recording format either but that is maybe for another forum.
I just had a look at the manual and it does say
iFrame: This is a recording format suitable for viewing or
editing on Mac (iMovie’11). And yes its not HD.
But Elements on a Mac should support 1080/50p (highest quality)
connect camera to computer with usb.
Add Media and select Videos from cameras and devices,
See if that will work.
Otherwise pop the card into a card reader,
copy / paste entire card to hard disk and ingest via Project Assets by navigating to the footage on the hard disk.
OK, thank you very much. I think I got the answer and I will try Premiere Elements and then with 1080/50p.
