    Printing in LR

    dkb194 Level 1

I wish to print 8.5"x14" pieces of a 72"x30" photo. I use LR 5.2. When I used to use Photoshop Elements 5.0 I would resize the photo and canvas and print in top left' top center etc. How can I print these pieces to make the large print in LR 5.2?

            Hi dkb,

You can add a custom cell on the print canvas and drag photos into it.

            Refer the screenshot.

Thanks Mohit. I want to take a 30x72 inch original and print 27 or so pieces on 8.5x11. The custom and drag isn't doing this unless you can help me understand how.

I think you want to print multiple pages to then stick together to make one large print. Am I correct?

                Not easy in Lightroom!

But you could try something like this-

                1. Select the photo that will be the total image

                2. Repeatedly Press CTRL+'  to create as many Virtual copies for prints you will need for the total collage.

                3. Select all and in Develop turn on Auto sync

                4. Make a crop (set to 8.5:14 ratio) and apply to first VC. (Use grid overlay as guide  [O] )

                5. Turn off Auto Sync, move to next VC, open Crop tool,

                6. move the image for a different cropped area.

                7. Repeat for each VC until you have all parts of the total image created as VCs

                8. Print each VC to the 8.5x14 paper.

                9. Apply the sticky tape to join all parts of the puzzle.

Image quality will suffer badly unless the original has sufficient pixel size!

Thanks wobertc. I  have found " Easy Poster Printer". Much easier. I'll keep your help just in case.
