Thanks for letting me know. I'll keep an eye on the other thread and hope for a fix. M
I don't know if this will work for everyone, but I seem to have solved the import problem on my Mac (see other thread for details.)
Question for you: Do you have any external hard drives or other storage devices connected to your Mac? If so, try disconnecting all of them, launch Lightroom, and try using the Import function again.
In my case, disconnecting external drives was enough to get Import working -- and it kept working even after I had reconnected my external drives.
For now, I'm guessing that Lightroom 2015.6 tries to make a list of all connected devices the first time you try to import -- and because of some minor defect, it gets hung up if there are external drives connected. Doing an import without any external drives connected gives it a chance to initialize itself, and after that you can connect and use your external drives with no further problems. (Touch wood!)
Please let us know on the other thread how you do, as I'll be using that thread to report the bug to Adobe if we can collect enough data to pin it down.
Do you still face the same issue?
I have the same problem and I have updated to CC 2015.6.1.
