yes, it's possible using ribbit api, but it's for as3.
Too bad it's impossible to have both AS 2 and AS 3 in the same file...
i've worked around that by loading as2 into as3. it's a hassle getting code working back and forth, but it can be done.
My whole database driven site is contained in a swf written in AS 2.
Do you think a solution exists to load AS 3 into it ?
sure. you can use localconnection to communicate back and forth between as2 and as3. i've made some pretty complex applications in adobe air that used as3 and loaded an as2 swf.
it can be difficult if you have non-serializable objects that have to go back and forth, but otherwise it's not too bad. and definitely easier than entirely remaking a complex as2 swf into an as3 swf.
