My Id changes my companys logotype från CMYK into LAB whenever I import it to a new Id document. It started to do so for about 2-3 weeks ago and I can't find any settings that's "wrong" and I can't change it back to CMYK, I can't erase the LAB colour from the palette. I can't remember changing any settings manualy but obviously something has happend because It didn't always do this.
When I open an older premade document with the logotype in it, the logo is in CMYK. So it's the import to document part that's doing something fishy..
The logo file is an EPS and I don't get any questions to select LAB or CMYK when I import it to a document.
I'm going crasy here, any suggestions?
Firstly, use AI files for your logo, not EPS. For the spot colour version, used when you're actually printing with spot inks, keep the swatches LAB. Create another version of your logo with process swatches for CMYK process work.
Starting with CS6 the Pantone + solid color libraries are defined as Lab-- spot colors are not printed with CMYK inks. If you want Pantone's CMYK simulation of the spot color use the Pantone Bridge libraries
