Could you please let us know the details such as operating system and Lightroom version?
Do you see the images in the Import window? What if you copy the images to your computer?
I am on a Mac and I am using Lightroom 5. The images do pop up in the import window but when I hit import it tells me the files can't be read. I just used my computer a couple of days ago and have never had this problem. I am a photographer and have been using this program since 2013.
There could be multiple scenarios for this:
1. Your camera is not supported in Lightroom 5 version.
2. Destination Location does not have enough permissions for the images to be copied over.
If the camera is supported and you were able to import successfully earlier, then this could be permissions related.
Go to Import window and make sure that the destination location under "TO" on top right is selected correctly and has full read and write permissions.
I am trying to locate it on the top right but still can't find the "TO" on top to make sure it's selected. Is there any way you could send me a screenshot please?
Thank you so much,
Thanks for sharing the screenshot.
That seems to be the culprit as you has Macintosh HD (root folder) selected as for the images to be copied which is not a valid destination
You should change that to a folder where you want the images to be copied.
Thank you so much for your patience with me! I set it to desktop but it won't let me change the Macintosh part. I can't remember where the images were being copied "TO" a couple of days ago.
Go to the Library module and check the folder name under Folders panel and that will let you know where the images were stored earlier.
By default, they are stored under Pictures so you change the destination location to Pictures folder or create a folder under Pictures according to your choice.
Setting Macintosh HD as the destination is not right as that is the main root folder.
Would suggest you to refer this tutorial for the import process:
