Moved to EPUB forum. Panorama overlays were only for DPS and they were deprecated. They were never supported anywhere but DPS on iOS devices and cannot be used in EPUB.
So is there are way of adding a virtual tour to an epub??
As Steve said, it is possible, but you will need to roll up your sleeves, crack open the ePub and tinker with the code.
We are working on a tool that will do this, but it is not ready yet.
That's good to know. Do keep us posted.
Ok! that is something to look into, do you know if there is any other format they may support this feature ie Ibooks or IPDF? I am sure I have seen realestate type books created this way unless they are using offline web format!!
Maybe they were PDFs with a Flash component.
You should be able to get your 360 working in ePub, but it will require some hand coding.
What is your audience?
This is really interesting.
Please confirm, is it created via InDesign.
It was created by our plugin in InDesign, as stated in post 5.
The images are placed into a MSO in the correct order and tagged to be exported as a 360, a bit like the Overlay panel tags page items. On export the images are injected into a HTML skin with connected java script to produce the working 360.
I would be VERY interested in this plug-in. We are creating ePubs at our design faculty (d.th-nuernberg.de) and the students often ask for a solution for 360° photographies.
Unfortunately the Dropbox-link to your ePub example is dead.
Could you help us out here?
I am sorry about the link. You could do this manually, we were inserting the images into the Jssor slider.
The trick would be making it validate.
