I have photos that were just imported in a year/month format. i.e. with each subfolder a yr/mo/day format.

I have a folder 02Feb with images already imported

      maygroup.jpg

that I want to reform to the June format above.

      How can I do that??

If you haven't done any editing or adding metadata to the photos yet, you can create a new catalog (File->New Catalog) and import the photos again selecting the proper date format that you like.

If you have already done some editing or adding of metadata, you can save the edits and metadata to the photo files, then create new catalog and re-import (note collections and virtual ccopies cannot be saved this way), or create the date structure manually.

Or the EASIEST thing to do is to not worry about it, do nothing, and use the Filter Bar in Lightroom to find the photos by date.

I don't think you really want a 2016 folder under 2016/06JUN, there's really no point to that.
