You say you have a new computer?
Did you MOVE the video from the old computer to the new one?
The Organizer is just a catalog of your media. It doesn't contain the actual media files.
Thank you Steve! That pretty much clears the issue up. However I now have a new issue. After I transferred all the videos from my camera to the organizer, when I went to edit my "movie" all the videos had a white bar at the bottom. If you have a thought on this one, I'd love to hear it. Thanks again, Steve.
I'd have to see it, Peter. Please post a screen capture of what you're talking about.
Also be sure to tell us what model of camcorder the video is from and exactly how you got the video from the camcorder to your computer.
Thanks for your reply.
I am not a very computer savvy guy...so could you please tell me how to post a screen capture so you can see the white bar on the video files in organizer? Apologies for my lack of knowledge on that one.
But I can tell you the type of camera I am shooting with! It is a Canon EOS 700 Rebel T5i. I transferred the videos from camera to computer using the USB cord that came with the camera.
I've been doing it that way with no issues on my old computer and the videos appeared fine in Elements Organizer. But since I reloaded Elements in the new computer, the white bar has appeared.
Apologies again for the screen capture question. Thanks for your patience and help, Steve.
You can post an image or screen shot to this forum by using the little HTML shortcuts that run along the top of the box you type your reply into.
The 7th one from the left is called "Add Image".
Okay....being that it is a video I'm dealing with, I sent you a brief clip of one of my students (I am an actor and acting coach) via Hightail due to the size of the format. But you will not see the white bar! In fact, the white bar does not appear when I put the file in edit mode. Which sort of solves my problem because the white bar appearing in edit mode was my main concern.
But if you can just imagine a white bar at the bottom of the screen that covers about a quarter of the frame...that's what the flies look like once I transfer them from the camera I told you about to the elements organizer.
Though my problem looks like it's "solved" I still wouldn't mind knowing what the white bar is.
Thanks again, Steve.
