Here is the workaround for this issue.
Rename the SLCache folder to SLCache.old, located in the following location:
- Mac OS: System Library/Application Support/Adobe

The “trial version” issue seems to have resolved itself. When I checked now, Creative Cloud shows Lightroom as installed, and it does start normally, without the “trial version” warning. Creative Cloud still doesn’t show an available update, however, and I understand Lightroom has been updated from version 2015.4, which I have, to version 2015.6. I tried the workaround you described to see if it would work on the updating issue, but it didn’t.
