Can I use an Adobe Stock image as part of my company logo or brand?
No. You need to have complete ownership of the image you use for your company logo, since logos are intended to be registered and protected to prevent other companies or organizations from using the same image. Because Adobe Stock only grants a right to use images and does not transfer the ownership, these images cannot be used in or as a logo.
Thanks Bev. If thats the case when browsing images, i saw many components
in logos ive seen elsewhere. How are they doing it? When i register my
business, they dont require me to trademark or register my logo. In that
case, am i able to use it since im not trademarking it? If you search logos
in adobe stock, there are literally thousands .
The question: "Why do stock providers sell images that are clearly designed for use as logos but in the license state that no stock images can be used in logos?"
The reason that all stock companies sell stock images that look exactly logos is so that that unsuspecting buyers purchase the images to make logos and then later the stock company can threaten the purchaser with breaking licensing rules and demand huge amounts of money.
It's as simple as that. Trust me.... I've seen two businesses screwed by stock companies this way. It's sad that stock companies treat people like this, but they do.
My advice, steer clear of using any stock image for logos and use fiverr to get a bespoke logo made.
