I have a new subscription to Lightroom on OSX - upgrading from Lightroom 5. I bought a Panasonic GX8 and need the latest version of camera raw installed. I've downloaded all manner of packages and DNG converters but Lightroom CC seems stuck on Camera Raw 9.0.
I've tried installed 9.5 and 9.6 manually as per various forum posts, and have tried the Adobe Application Manager as well. The pkg files run through their install successfully but Lightroom is stuck on 9.0. The AAM says "Update failed, updates could not be applied".
There is no option in the Creative Cloud app nor Lightroom (that I can see) to run the update there.
I have Lightroom 5 installed still, and am reluctant to delete it until this new version is able to work with my camera.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! I've installed and reinstalled twice, and run patches each time.
The Camera Raw plugin is only for Photoshop. Lightroom does not use the Camera Raw plugin. The Camera Raw engine is included in Lightroom's core programme code.
Update Lightroom to CC 2015.6 via the Cloud desktop app and the latest Camera Raw engine is included.
For the record, the GX8 was first supported in Lightroom 6.1.1.
Let us know the Operating System version you are using.
Also, you need minimum Camera raw 9.1.1 and Lightroom 6.1.1 to get the raw data work from DMC-GX8
