help I can't download adobe flash on my macbook pro

I need someone to talk me through step by step how to install this.

I tried following the instructions on the website but it didn't work but i tried to follow them exact.

I feel like theres a step missing once I'm in preferences.

I'm no expert but i need flash player.

I have El Capitan OSX 10.11.5 and Adobe Flash Player quit working several days ago and I can't install it either. It downloads and says that Flash Player failed to install. It keeps defaulting to the Mac help page. I've tried 5+ times already. I disabled firewall and antivirus programs but it still won't install. It doesn't even get to the part where it asks to close Safari.
