Did you try to sign out of the Adobe CC desktop app and then sign back in?
That would sync the libraries.

I had done that yesterday and it did not help then. I just signed out again and also restarted my machine now and it seems to be working.
However, the in-app stock search began working intermittently (on some apps and not others; at some times and not others) after I created this post last night). So it does appear to be working right now, but I'm going to leave this question open for another day or so. Just to make sure it stays working.
