Why not just use Bridge?
I see two options for you:
- Just use Bridge as per Bob's suggestion. Set it up to look like Mini-Bridge by putting it in Light Table view and run it along the bottom (or side) of the InDesign window. Drag and drop your snippets as per the old workflow, or
- If you are ready to take advance of CC Libraries, start with the same set-up plus grab a cup of coffee, put on some good music, open InDesign and the CC Libraries panel and drag the snippets into a blank document, and then over to the CC Library. It might take a hour (or 2 or 3) but then it's done and you are all set up moving forward.
Bridge in the Light Table workspace looks/functions much like the old Mini-Bridge panel:
Thanks for the suggestions, but this are just workarounds to replace a good working function, removed for ??? reason. (any ideas, why it was removed?)
Bridge takes a lot more space on the desktop and doing it by using Indesign makes me shudder, thinking of 20+ magazines with all the different objects.
My understanding is that mini-bridge was based on now-deprecated Flash technology, so it's unlikely to return in that form, even with the public backlash.
Now that it's gone, we have to figure out new workflows... and maybe you need to add an adult beverage to that coffee I suggested earlier.
Thx, Flash would be an acceptable reason for the removal.
