Creating an ID file with thumbnails and text from a folder of pdfs

Is there an easy way to take a dated folder full of pdfs and create a page or pages as necessary in InDesign with the Folder date (actually the folder name), pdf file name, trim size and a small thumbnail going across the page with one line or row for each pdf contained in that folder? I have been doing it manually by pasting the text in ID and making the thumbnails with an action after rasterizing each pdf in Photoshop. Maybe a script exists?

Many years ago I use a product called Kudo Image Browser which would give you printouts or pdfs of a folder of images or pdfs, etc with fields for size, date, name etc but that product no longer exists and the contact sheet option in Photoshop is not quite what I need.
