Progressively running out of memory (leak?) for previews and render queue

Alright, so I know there are a lot of questions out there about memory leaks in general, but none have helped me so far. When I first launch AE, I'm able to render a reasonable amount of frames for a preview the first time I try. The next time, I can render fewer frames. And fewer. And fewer. Until I finally get a message telling me I need at least 2 frames cached to run a RAM preview.

      Then, I'll get a pop-up like this:

Purging the memory doesn't help. The only thing that gets me back up and running, temporarily, is to restart AE. And then the same cycle happens again. Also, if I try to render in the queue, the same basic thing happens. It'll render part of the comp, then error out; so I restart AE, and render some more, and rinse and repeat.

My project has large AI image layers and a few C4D layers, so I understand if render times are long, but that doesn't explain the progressive degradation of the amount of memory I have each session. It's clearly a leak of some kind.

      My specs:

      OS: OS X 10.11.5

      RAM: 16 GB 1867 MHz DDR3

Graphics: Intel Iris Pro Graphics 6200 1536 MB

      AE Version: 13.8.0.144 (2015.3)
