I am exporting to pdf from Indesign CC. Have created hyperlinks in the Indesign document, checked them in Acrobat DC for accuracy and uploaded the PDF to the web, This first PDF has hyperlinks that take you to a specific page of other pdfs also hosted on our website. These links work perfectly in Firefox and Chrome on a PC. In Safari for both the IPad and IPhone and on Android mobile devices, the links from one PDF to specific pages in another PDF only lead to the start of the document and not the page specified in the #page=xxx portion of the URL. What am I missing about these mobile platforms? Is there a trick/work around? Thanks in advance.
For it to work the PDF viewer must support the PDF Open Parameters, which the Safari plugin probably does not.
You should report this issue to the makers of this plugin, although I don't think the open parameters are a part of the PDF Specification, so basically it's not mandatory to include them.
Thanks. I tried downloading the Acrobat Reader App for Iphone and apparently that does not support PDF Open Parameters either. Amazing in this day and age of phablets and IPads that this functionality has not been implemented. Thanks again for your help.
