Why would Indesign change shapes with low opacity fill to appear blank?

I have recently updated to the latest version of InDesign.

I have then gone to open existing documents (which I have already had printed) and the shapes which had a low opacity of a certain colour just appear to be blank.  The shape still exists and all the information is still exactly the same i.e. same opacity, colour etc but it just appears blank fill on my screen.  Can you provide a reason why this would happen and how to correct it?

I haven't changed any formats/settings in InDesign.  The colours are set to CYMK and not RGB as they are intended for printing.

Any suggestions/explanations would be greatly welcomed.
