    How to start

    mattyman0 Level 1
      Hello,

I have been using Dreamweaver to develope wedsites for 3 years now. I was using Corel products for my image editing. I came to a fork in the road and had to decide to upgrade Corel or go with another graphic editor, I made the leap and purchased Fireworks and Flash. Please, Please tell me I made the right choice....I have been using Corel products for the last 10 years. Could someone give me som direction as to where I should start to learn these products?

      Thank You!

          You made the right choice.
Here is a good article to get you started. Even though it is designed
for FW MX2004 the principles will carry over.

Yep, I 100% agree with Alex. You have made the right choice.

The first thing you might want to do to get acquainted with Fireworks'
interface and hybrid vector-raster tool set is to do the tutorials that
            come with the software.

You have already made the decision but for an overview of why I think
Fireworks is a great app, read the following article on my site:

            http://www.pixelyzed.com/pixelforge/whychoosefireworks/

For an example of Fireworks' flexibility, you may want to read this one
            on masking:

            http://www.adobe.com/devnet/fireworks/articles/removing_backgrounds.html
(same article on Adobe's site, edited by their staff)

As long as you're there, there are many other articles and tutorials
            about Fireworks there:

            HTH!
