Just wondering if anyone knows how to export all
frames/states of an animation created in fireworks to Photoshop
frames. I need to be able to provide my project in an editable
format to another designer, who works in PS only. It seems like the
current PS export can only save out one frame/State at a
While I'm not sure if there is any direct way of transferring
animation frames from Fireworks to Photoshop, it's possible to
automatically convert the animation to a sequence of images from
Fireworks. Then the other designer can use this image sequence to
automatically reconstruct the animation in Photoshop.
This process allows GIF- and Fireworks PNG animations to be
transferred into Photoshop with preserved editability, but there
are some limitations, which I also described in the tutorial.
I ended up doing something similar by exporting the first
frame and background using the PS export in FW. Then I saved out
the other frames without the backgrounds as pngs and imported back
into PS into layers and then frames. Your method is a lot easier
except that I need a part of the project to be editable (text).
Hopefully Adobe will give us a easier solution.
