I'm making a operation manual in an A4 size document.
This operation manual will also be made in an A6 format.
But only scaling the whole page will make the text and images impossible to read.
So i want to make a different kind of layout for the smaller manual, but i want to link everything together.
I managed to link an image to the smaller document, and keep it smaller also when i change the "adult".
After that i've tried this with a text field: i scaled the textfield to 75% for the A6 size file.
But when i change something in the "adult" text field, the text in the "child" text field will get 100% again.
I've already checked the options "Size and shape" and "Frame content" in the "Link options" menu, but this didn't do anything.
InDesign has a features especially for this situation called Liquid Layout and Alternate Layout. With Liquid Layout you can set up rules for how frames move and resize with a page size change and with Alternate Layout you can have both versions in a single file with linked images that can be updated at one time.
