I was waiting for this for years..now what i see ? In Photoshop they added font classes options (serif, sans serif etc) in font list, though it isnt typical typographic program. InDesign designed as DTP tool still doesnt have this basic option... how it come that PS care more about these features?
Well, congratulations to the Photoshop managers and engineers for providing the feature. Photoshop has ramped up its type features a lot in the past couple years. However, it still lags InDesign in typography, nevertheless. It only got a Glyphs panel about a year ago. Previously, you had to copy glyphs from Illustrator to the clipboard!
The Font menu has been getting a lot of love lately in InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. It's pretty likely that we could get the same feature in InDesign, especially if you filed a feature request here:
Keep in mind that Photoshop pulls in a lot more money for Adobe (The Photography Plan draw in lots of CC members) so it probably has at least three times the number of engineers as the InDesign team does. (I don't have actual numbers but you can tell by the number of new and upgraded features offered over time.) So don't expect it tomorrow, just because you ask for it.
