I have the current Lightroom CC (2015.6). Previously, if I imported to a particular folder, say /Users/fred/Pictures/lightroom (on mac), Lightroom would remember that folder so that the next import would go, by default, to the same folder. But in the past 3 months or so, Lightroom's behavior changed so that the default folder every time is the hard drive (the filesystem root, "/"), not the folder I last imported to. This seems to be a new bug. I much preferred the old behavior.
This is been discussed previously on the forum. It appears to be an oversight in the latest update. Hopefully it will be corrected in a future update.
The previous destination folder is still selected, it's just that the folder hierarchy has been collapsed:
Adobe has acknowledged the problem in the official Adobe feedback forum and has said it will be fixed in the next release: Lightroom 2015.6: Update does not remember the last destination target directory | Photoshop Family Customer Community
