We use a 10-up grid for our business cards and import a completed PDF with bleed into each of the 10 image boxes. When making a new 10-up sheet I copy what has been done already and replace the linked images on that page. Sounds easy, but the trick is that InDesign changes the percentage size to 102%-104% automatically. What boxes do I need to have checked in order for it to replace the link with the new one exactly the location and percentage as I had the ones before? Thanks!
This is controlled by the state of the chdsck box for Preserve image dimensions when relinking under File Handling in the prefs. One way preserves the dimensions, the other preserves the scale.
I tested that check box and in order for me to keep them at the percentage they were previously I need to have the preserve image dimension box unchecked. Now the trick will be to have the bleed settings consistent for the PDF so that it lines up perfectly. Thanks!
