I found my catalog backups! Apparently when i tried to open it with lighroom, it wouldnt work. I found it on my computer, extracted the files as it was a zipped file, and then was able to open it with lighroom. It relaunched with the backup catalog and I got my photos back! Just in case anyone has similar problem, lol, extract your backup before opening it in Lightroom
What version of LR are you using?
The newest version of LR compresses the backups into a ZIP file to save space. You first need to Extract the ZIP file, Un Zip it, before you try to open it in LR.
Whenever you open Lightroom, it creates a catalog.lock file located in the same folder that your Lightroom catalog, catalog.lrcat, is located. When you close Lightroom, the catalog.lock file is deleted. If you experience a crash with Lightroom open, the .lock file remains and will not allow Lightroom to open again and you get the message that the catalog is already open. You simply need to find that .lock file and delete it to get Lightroom to open again with your latest catalog. Do not delete the .lrcat file, only delete the .lock file.
