That looks to be more of a graphics system problem than a LR problem.
As I created another catalog, I noticed that there was not issue. Going back to a backup version of my main catalog, I found out that the issue was gone. I verfified it by going back to the original catalog.
Looks like that it was a LR catalog issue. At least going back to a backup version of my catalog solves the problem.
Got exactly the same issue. It started with CC 2015.7 and is still present.
Its NOT related to GPU and its NOT related to the catalog.
Optimizing catalog does not help. Using backups doesn't help.
The bug manifest when you have a certain amount of images in the filmstrip - my entire catalog is about 170.000 images. So when selecting "All Photographs" and no filtering, basically.
Soon as I filter down to a few thous the graphic glitch disappears. Havent nailed the exact breakin point.
Strongly suspect Adobe changed something up in the preview engine as this was never a problem in earlier versions,
Also, this catalog was built up fairly recently from scratch (on 2015.5 or 2015.6 cant remember) on a brand new windows 10 machine - all vanilla.
Really annoying but not a deal breaker
