I'm not nearly as upset with the products as timurh is but i do agree to a point. Rather than send out new copies every year. Just update and "FIX" whats wrong with them. I mostly have problems with Indesign so i cannot really speak to the quality of the other products. I use them some but not enough to notice if anything is Messed up with them.
You mentioned that example where the View has changed quality.
That's a new feature that comes with the new GPU usage of InDesign CC 2015.4 on Mac OSX and some Mac machines.
It's explained here in German:
Wenn Ihr Computer eine kompatible GPU-Karte hat, nutzt InDesign bei der Darstellung des Dokuments die GPU als Standardeinstellung und legt die Anzeigeleistung auf „hohe Qualität“ fest.
Turning off the feature or switching between modes is described as well.
( Next thing you are missing with InDesign CC 2015.4 or want to discuss, please… )
dont get me wrong, i work with adobe products for some years now and was always very happy with the performance ... but since i changed to the CC the problems get worse every update i've downloaded ... they fix one thing to make two other's get worse!
dear uwe, i did all you just send me but unfortunatly i am not able to turn this funktion off! every time i open a document it is set to
"high resolution" again. the program does not save me setting!
but this is just one small problem of a whole cascade of issues ... i dont what to sit all day an solve problems i want a
program that is ready for use!!!!!
no more betas please!
ps sorry my english is a bit rusty
no worry. And sorry, that my suggestion will not work with you.
Maybe something else is going wrong…
You could try the following:
1. Quit InDesign
2. Start InDesign with no documents open.
3. Turn off the new GPU functions.
4. Quit InDesign again so that the preferences (hopefully) will be saved.
Now open a document and check, if the View behavior is sticky or not after:
Saving, closing and re-opening a document.
well the GPU stting is not the problem, the problem is that the "anzeigenleistung" (i'm sorry i don't know how this
preference is called in english) is set to "high" and i cannot set it to "normal"! when i do so an quit the programm
the setting is back to "high" when i restart indesign ... so i have to, manualy, reset the quality everytime i open a file!
'cause eventhough i always work with the fastest macs, when opening a 70 pages document with lots of pictures
you can imagine how fast the whole thing works with the prefernce set to "high"
anzeigenleistung = Display Performance. Have you tried this. Open Indesign with no documents open and go the Preferences>anzeigenleistung then change the settings.
jup ... doesn't change anything ... and it doesn't work on all my other computers as well! :-(
hmmm. I'm not sure. "For Me" As long as i have the Drop down menu in Display Performance Set to Fast / Typical / HIGH it works. Maybe one of the Smarter people on here can help you more than me. I'm sure That one of the things that will be said to do is Trash your preferences since this solves several problems. So that might be a starting point If you haven't done so already.
1. have no document open
2. Turn of GPU performance
3. Set Display Performance back to Normal
4. Quit InDesign
Everything will be back to what it was in previous versions.
Please take the steps 1 to 4 as described before complaining here some more... ;-)
Hopefully he can Turn the GPU performance on. Here at my work none of the computers can turn it on.
hi people, thank's for your help, i will try this and give you feeback if it works!
well, as i mentioned before, it's not the small problems every now an then that bother me, but the sheer number of
bugs that occured after the last updates ... and in my feeling it gets worse!
as a company i need to trust in the results i get with those products and in the past it was so ... but not anymore!
so i appeal to you not to roll out any beta versions (or less) anymore ... i need professional products that WORK!
i may be a tiny little customer in your (adobes) eyes, but it's us "the customers" that make you big!
best wishes (especially a trustworthy indesign version;-)
