are you animating the text like any other layer? or are you trying to animate the characters?
how about a video so we could see what it's all about?
if you want to animate the characters you can use the animate option (more about it later in my post)
there's also a neat option to attach path to a text layer (Adobe Programmers - why not to Shapes too???)
and you can make cool things with it.
here are a few examples of a big project I made using Ae's text engine and everything I could:
Path, 3D, 32Bit, 3rd party plugins, all sorts of things to make the text feel more organic. a lot of manual labor
but without the text animators it would have been incredibly difficult.
Text in Ae like most of everything - requires study and practice. it's not that intuitive. there are many parameters and the fiddling with the parameters in timeline is not that comfortable. same as shapes.
read through here:
with text animators you have you Animator that contains two main controls: the range, and the parameter to change.
once it's there you can scroll down the properties and decide to define a range for the animation (some of the letters or all of them etc.), and also the value of it to change
as for the range part - you could add instead of a Range Selector, a Wiggly Selector and then the animation will happen with wiggle attached to it by the parameters you will define:
using the presets is a a good starting point sometimes (once you have read the help files). you can choose a preset and click UU and study it and change it to your needs.
Thank you so much! You helped me a lot! I figured it out now! Thanks again:)
you're welcome! also welcome to post here the result.
