Do you want to move this movieClip, or do you want to move something on the movieClip? Can you show an example of what you want to accomplish or give a better explanation?
sorry, I was vague in my original explanation. I have a MC and within that movie clip is a series of smaller movie clips which act as buttons. The buttons are aligned in columns and rows. There are seven columns and seven rows. Initially when the grid is viewed, 3 rows are visible and the rest can be viewed by scrolling down with a scroll-bar component. I wanted to create a button about the 4th row that when pressed would move the 7th row up to the top, so basically would mimic what you would do with the scroll bar. Not sure if this can be done or how to do it.
Sure, this would be similar to the up and down arrow buttons on a scrollbar. If you are using a scrollPane component, then you can set a new vPosition value for the component to change the vertical position of the contents of the component. If you're using something else, there should be a similar method.
yes, using a scrollPane component. Would I set the vPosition of the component in the main time line? Also, how would I control this positioning with a button click?
