Digital Signature issue with Adobe Reader X and Adobe Reader XI

Why would Adobe Reader X recognize my digital signature (my work email by default) but Adobe Reader XI prompts me to create a signature when I try to sign the same document?  The settings appear to be the same when reviewing the Preferences, so I am truly stumped.

          Hi albertc52121104 ,

I would like to mention that presence of two or more versions of same product leads to have issues in functionality, give unexpected errors and software conflicts and Its not recommended.

However you can try to use the Signature created by X in XI .

          Open Reader XI>Edit>Preferences>Signatures>Identities & Trusted Certificates>More>Add ID>My existing digital ID from: A file>Next>Browse> navigate to C:/Users/username/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Acrobat/10.0/Security/select the pfx file>Open>enter the password>Next>Finish

          Thank You!
