I did the download, I signed in to my account and it is now asking for my serial number. I have gone through all of my email from when I purchased the product and I am not seeing anything about a serial number. I looked on creative cloud and didn't see anything about one there either. perhaps I have over looked it. Could you help me once again, please?
You talk of the creative cloud. Did you purchase Lightroom 6? Or, did you subscribe to the creative cloud and pay an annual or monthly fee for Lightroom and Photoshop?
I pay monthly for it. Is there a way to look on my old laptop to get the Lightroom serial number?
Cloud programs do not use serial numbers... you log in to your paid Cloud account to download & install & activate... you MAY need to log out of the Cloud and restart your computer and log back in to the Cloud for things to work
On that computer, Does your Cloud subscription properly show on your account page?

If you have more than one email, are you sure you are using the correct Adobe ID?
Log out of your Cloud account... Restart your computer... Log in to your paid Cloud account

Try installing Creative Cloud on the new laptop. Sign in with your adobe information. From the pop-up box select 'Apps.' Download LR in that list.
