I tried using shake reduction adjustment in Pre El 14 to eliminate some hand held shakes in a video.
After using the quick option on the whole 3 minute clip and exporting, the result was a long letterboxed video that looked like it was a zoomed section of the original.
The quality obviously suffered compared to the original video. Did I do something wrong or is this how a shake reduced export looks??
Shake reduction does zoom in on the video as part of its stabilization process -- but in my opinion in zooms in way too much at its default settings. In my tutorials, I usually recommend manually setting the Smoothness and the Crop vs Smooth to about 15% and then experimenting with settings that take the minimum settings to reduce the shake.
3 minutes is way too long to get a good stabilized clip.
Clips with hand held shake and panning are very difficult to handle.
A few second clip will give far more better results.
