    Lightroom Print Module not working


      I recently "upgraded" to the latest Photoshop 2015.5  and the Lightroom  2015.6.   Incidentally my PC apparently automatically loaded updates to Windows 10.


      Since then the Print module is not working properly.

      - When I go from the Library or Develop module to the Print module,  the image that shows up is NOT the one selected.  It is a random photo but from the same catalog area.

      - on the occasion that the photo the appears in the Print module IS correct,  the resulting print is a random image.  Weird.

      - when it does print  (the wrong image) it is VERY,  VERY  slow.


      Help please!   I have images to print.

          Hi Kim,


          When you see this in the Print Module, do you have the filmstrip open at the bottom of the screen? If not, can you try to show the filmstrip (Window > Panels > Show Filmstrip) and see whether you can select the image in the filmstrip, and see it reflected in the Print Module?


          A screen shot of this condition would be helpful. I recall a bug with this several versions ago, but I thought it had been fixed.


          Post a screen shot with filmstrip and selected photo showing, and we'll try to get this figured out.

            I will post a screen shot when I get home from work.  But I am intrigued..... I have never had this problem before and why would the filmstrip make a difference?  Also, would this cause it to print so slowly?  And I mean 30 minutes for an 8x10 print!

              Hi Kim,


              It's hard to say. I'm inclined to suspect that you might benefit from resetting Lightroom's preferences to default, but I'd like to see the screen shot with the film strip just to see if it's behaving like the bug I recall from a few versions back.

                Here is a screen shot.  I did a complete virus scan,  optimized the Lightroom catalog and rebooted to my little heart's content.

                Any ideas? I can reset the preferences if you think it is necessary, but I fear I will create more issues.

                  I did some additional "experimenting".  If I choose a photo from the filmstrip it works.  If I try to go from the Library or Develop module it just picks photos at random.   I have not tried the print speed yet.

                    Hi Kim,


                    I would definitely try resetting the preferences. You can copy the old preferences file first if you want to be able to go back to it. The instructions are pretty detailed in the page I linked earlier.


                    If resetting preferences doesn't help, please provide full system information (Go to Help > System Info... and copy and paste that information here) and I'll try to pull in some help from the Adobe staff directly.

                      I reset the preferences as recommended in your link. No luck.

                      Here is the system info that may help.  Is there a way to get back to a previous (working) version?  I need to get this working!!  I have images to deliver.

                        One thing I notice from your screen-clip:  You are trying to print 10,432 photos !!  Really?

                        Check your options below the print window to use "Selected Photos" or "All Filmstrip Photos".

                        See if that makes a difference.

                          Oh my Gosh!!!  That is truly embarrassing.  I have NO idea how the "print the filmstrip box got checked  After I checked the correct box everything seems to work like it should.


                          I feel pretty stupid....  Thank you for your assistance.  I owe you a beer.

                            Don't be embarrassed. I have been caught by the many little tricks in Lightroom.
