    Disable Debugging for Android

I searched the other discussions and couldn't find an answer. I am getting an error message as follows:

You uploaded a debuggable APK. For security reasons you need to disable debugging before it can be published in Google Play. Learn more about debuggable APKs.

You uploaded an APK that was signed in debug mode. You need to sign your APK in release mode. Learn more about signing.

I do not have enable debugging checked, I have created my signing key, I have uploaded it, and unlocked it. I am even getting the apk downloaded with the "-release.apk" ending, but am still getting the error message.

      What am I doing wrong?
