Unable to print a book

Hello Team,

I'm using Framemaker 12 to print books.

Sometimes the File > Print Book works and sometimes it doesnot works.

Can anyone help me to rectify the error.

I have a book file with around 7 chapters, when I try to print the book by using File > Print Book option, I'm not getting the 'Print Book' pop-up window.

Ok, so what's different with a book that you CAN print to PDF using the Print Book option?

I want Postscript files to be generated. Hence, opted for this option.

Are you in structured or unstructured mode when this happens?

Which point version of FM12 are you using, i.e. are you all patched up?

Are you printing to a physical printer or trying to create a PDF? If you are going to PDF, use the SaveAsPDF option instead.

Have you tried using <alt>-<tab> to toggle through all windows, just in case the Print dialogue window doesn't make it all the way to front?

I'm in unstructured mode. Also the Framemaker that we are using is not a patched-up version.

For printing the book, I'm pointing them to create a PDF.

Also, I did tried Alt+tab option.

So far nothing is working for me.

First I'd get your FM12 install updated - use Help > Updates to see if there's any patches outstanding. You should be at 12.0.4.445 afterwards. Is the Adobe PDF printer instance your default printer while in FM? You say that some books will print to PDF fine, but that other ones won't - what is the difference between those that work & those that don't?
