Hello, all. I'm Alvin and our office still uses InDesign CS 5, and I would like to inquire if anybody experienced an error in bullets and numbering wherein I cannot change the numbering style format from NUMBER (1, 2, 3, 4) to Alphabet ( A, B, C, D or a, b, c ,d). If i try to change to it, it keeps coming back to numbers. And it affects other previous documents using the style. It's kind of weird because it functions well a week ago. I already uninstalled and clean installed the app, but the error is still there. I wonder if this is an OS thing, I'm using Windows 8.1 Pro by the way. Thank you for your replies. More power.
It might help if you post a step-by-step list of instructions on how you are creating the bullet/number list. Include whether you are using styles or not, and if there are any local overrides.
Try exporting the document to idml, and then open again to see if the error persists.
Do new list, not default, than set paragraph style with your numbering to this list in settings of paragraph style, and than only try to change type of your numbering.
