I have been having the same issues. I used to have a small laptop and ran LR 4 with CS6. When I upgraded to an iMac and boosted my RAM to 32GB for added speed I decided to upgrade all the way around and upgraded to CC. NOTHING but problems since. My brush tool freezes CONSTANTLY. Stamp / clone tool is just as bad.
Tonight CC said I needed to update so I did and restarted my computer - now it keeps crashing. PS has closed with no error message six times in the last hour in a half. I'm about to throw this thing out of my window and hop back on my laptop with it's "outdated" software that never gave me issues.
Thanks F.McLion, both LR & PS were updated 2 days ago with the latest, and I now have even more issue than before this latest update. Totally frustrating...
Interesting to see Sarapope430 that you upgraded to iMac which meets all the standard requirements for both software LR & PS yet your still having issues. So adobe can not use that excuse
I am seriously considering cancelling my Adobe CC membership as the products concerned do not meet the purpose and return to my previous version prior to CC.
Sarapope430 I had Adobe support on my computer the other day (remote). At the time I contacted them I had not updated my software so they said thats what the issue was, however much to their amazement both LR & PS were still having the same issues after updates and in actual fact was worst.
I was then informed I needed to upgrade my computer for VRAM which ok I said I would look at the options.... so its interesting to see that you have done this yet still having issues so that eliminates that then...
So what now? Whats your next step?
It appears that everyone is just putting up with all these issues, while still paying for a service that is yet to give satisfactory outcome and at the least should give us a software that is workable which I can't say mine is
Forget that VRAM stuff!
You have an older grapahic card with low VRAM. All that means is that you can not use the GPU acceleration, period. Adobe Lightroom GPU Troubleshooting and FAQ
As long as you do not use a high-res monitor (4k or alike) this is no issue.
2015.6 had some memory leaks that should be resolved with 2015.6.1 - make sure you have this version.
Tell us exactly when you see slowdowns or lock-ups. Are there a lot of local adjustments like brush?
Yes the GPU acceleration was already disabled.
1- Just to load/open LR (including PS) it takes about a minute then it has a not responding msg, if I leave it for about 5 minutes it then opens.
2- To move from 1 image to another takes several seconds
3- To select to 'Edit' in another application takes anything from 5-10 minutes to not at all.
Edit in Photoshop- Usually comes up with error msg 'The file could not be edited because Adobe Photoshop CC 2015.5 could not be launched. And then 10minutes later PS will open
While I have LR or PS just open sitting not working in it... my entire system is extremely slow or I am unable to even view certain sites. These issues have become worst and only been occurring since I upgraded to CC
