Hi Susym ,
Please make sure that you are running the latest version 6.6.1 of Lightroom.
You can download the patch for this update here:-
Thanks Akash, i tried that and it is saying update could not be applied.
unable to write at location 'users/myname/library/applicationsupport/adobe.
Do you know what i do now? i went into that back way in library but not sure how to write to it. firewall is off, so not sure why its blocking it.
I uninstalled and reinstalled with your link, and the updates and it still says it can't do the update due to the same reason above. not being able to write to user etc. however I have saved lightroom in applications.
unable to write to location 'users/susymcfarlane/library/applicationsupport/adobe.
also, when i go to try and find the location above. there is no library folder under susymcfarlane. there is a library folder - application support - adobe, but its not under my username. i updated these read/write but it still is trying to link to a susymcfarlane library folder. i feel like going back to factory settings as i have never had such issues with a mac/adobe and its frustrating me.
Launch Finder and then press the Optn (Alt) key
On the top menu click “go” whilst keeping the Alt key depressed.
Can you now select your user library?
Hi 99jon, yes i can access the library folder, i then went into application support and changed the adobe folder to read and write.
I just installed Lightroom again, and changed read write on all folders as some hadn't changed and it has worked. yay, thanks for all your help.
