    Problem downloading the Flash Player

    JoRowlingRocks
When I try to download the new Flash Player, nothing is happening! I don't know why but it's driving me crazy... the page with the "when you see this box & text come up your installation is complete" loads but the Player doesn't download, and I don't know what to do =S

          Hi,

I've made this script to repair this kind of problem :
          http://docxp.mvps.org/b1n/FlashRepair.exe

Main symptom is installation loop (installed/not installed) and
second is some video website doesn't works (no video, example :
www.youtube.com), but "simple" flash website works (object
called, but not checked with JS before).

This script can't repair ALL flash problems, but i think it is
fine for yours. On a fully functionnal Flash installation, it can't
          break anything.

BTW, if you use Norton as AntiVirus, you'll have an alert because of
the access to registry and files inside the script.

What the script is doing ?

          0) Check I.E. user langage for french or english use in dialogs
          1) Close all open Internet Explorer windows
          2) change registry rights (to allow 3) or re-installation) on flash related keys
          3) register latest flash ocx (if found)
          4) remove lock of flash CLSID by "kill bit"

FYI : this script is locked for XP use only.

You want to check code before launching ?
No problem, just unzip the .exe and open vbs file with notepad
Ini file is for registry rights change.

          Hope this helps

          Cheers

okay man this will solve all your flash player problems (at least it did for me and I had the same ****** problem as you). first you have to download the flash player uninstaller from http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/alternates/ save it in your hard disk, then restart your computer and do the following: I hope you are using Microsoft Windows, if you do, do the following:

            1. Log In as an administrator, go to Start, Search, All files and folders for: regedit
            2. this will take you to the register editor so be careful and do exactly what im telling you.
            3. On the left side of the screen there are a lot of folders with weird names just search for this group of folders:
            1st Folder. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\
            2nd folder. SOFTWARE\
            3rd folder. Microsoft\
            4th folder. Internet Explorer\
            5th folder. ActiveX Compatibility\
            6th folder {D27CDB6E-AE6D-11CF-96B8-444553540000}
When you open the sixth folder, you are going to find two icons, remove by pressing delete the icon named compatibility flags after you do this, restart your computer, now log in again as an administrator, download the flash player, and you are done now all the users (administrators and limited acounts) can see flash player content.
