When creating a new indd file in ID CS6, a set of para tags etc were automatically loaded into the new doc.Today I opened a new file and it opened with only a basic para tag. I know that years ago I created a sort of default file that included all the setting that I wanted to default to for any new project, saved it where Adobe told me to and named it what Adobe told me ID would look for when creating new docs.
I thought it might be default.indd but no soap.
Can anyone tell me the correct name and folder where this file should be kept.
Thanks very much
Create a file with all the styles you want, save and close. With no file open switch to the Paragraph Styles panel and from the flyout menu choose Load all styles... Choose the file you saved with your styles and load them, then close ID and relaunch. All new files made from File > New... should have those styles.
You can also save blank (or not blank) files with any page configuration and selection of predefined styles as InDesign Templates. You access those through File > Open...
thank you, Peter!
