Can I edit basic photo properties directly in InDesign?

I have a photo of a truck at night...and it looks okay full-sized, but I am putting it in a newsletter in InDesign and have to make it pretty small...when it's that small, the details are kind of lost in the darkness.

Is there any way to just do a simple brightness / shadows & hightlights adjustment directly from InDesign? Or do I need to open the image in my files, edit in Photoshop, then save it and re-place it in InDesign?

Obviously, by the time it took to write this post I could have done just that...but I am curious for future work.

      Thanks in advance!
